Slump Buster's Prognostication & Draft Drivel: Can The PugBoys Repeat?

The Pugz are obviously one of the more talented clubs in Smokey Louis. They also have something that many owners inspire to have: a strong pipeline of talent sitting on the DV roster. Dont take my word for it, just look at two titles in the last three years as evidence of the talent on this club. The Pugz are always willing to make the big trade. One of the bigger trades in the Pugz history was the famed deal with the B-Cups involving Carlos Beltran, and Alfonso Soriano. The deal has worked out well for both clubs, but nobody can argue with the five tool production of Soriano. Now that he's playing half his games at Wrigley (sorry Cards fans) - look out!

DONT NEEDS:

IF: The Pugz are loaded at several positions, but probably one of the strongest positions on this club is 1B. Few can sport two top ten fantasy studs at one position like Mark Teixeira and Lance Berkman. Joe Mauer and Jimmy Rollins are both one or two at their respective positions, depending on the magazine you read.

OF: Even though the Pugz only protected three outfielders, they still have Lance Berkman who qualifies at that position. Not to mention the three outfielders the Pugz protected are standout fantasy options. Oh, and have I mentioned Cameron Maybin and Delmon Young sitting on the DV? Like I said, the Pugz are loaded.

NEEDS:

SP: With the trade of Cliff Lee to the Slumps this off season, the Pugz lost a little depth at SP. Mind you, they still have Scott Kazmir and Josh Johnson sitting on the DV, but Johnson will likely be out for the first couple of months. A.J. Burnett is a decent #3 option in fantasy leagues, but still suffers from the occasional hang nail costing him several weeks of the season.

RP: Like Dave's draft prognostication of the Celtics, the Pugz could use some help in the relief corps. Francisco Cordero came out of the clear blue sky and saved the Pugz bully last year after Gagne, Foulke and The Gas Can Benitez all went down with serious injury. However, this team is talented enough to get away with two closers and one solid middle reliever.

PROGNOSTICATION:

This is a tough one because the Pugz have a lot of picks, and not a tremendous amount of needs. If I were to guess, I would say that he would satisfy his needs at SP early in the draft and then take the best available option after that. After all, its about acquiring the best talent right?
