There has been some confusion over the years about when a player needs to be activated off of the IR list. If a player is healthy, they need to be activated before the start of the next Smokey Louis week.
So, for an example, Fernando Tatis Jr. was injured during a game April 8, 2025, and was removed from the game. On April 9, he was listed by the Padres as day-to-day. The Pugz removed him from their lineup before games started that day. On April 11, he was back in the lineup. The Pugz needed to take him off of IR by the time games started for Week 3 on Monday, April 14.
