PROPOSED AMENDMENT A: ELIMINATING THE DV PREVIOUS SEASON TRUMP CARD FROM AMENDMENT II SECTION B

Here is what Amendment II, Sect B currently says:

The 10/20/30 draft qualification rule applies only to the previous season—i.e., for all you poker aficionados, the previous season trumps all other seasons.

Example A: if Steve Finster (2B-Cards), a free agent in our system, played 100 games for the Cards in 1998, and then spent the entire 1999 season at AAA, Finster would qualify for the developmental draft in 2000.

It is proposed to change this section to read:

If a non-rostered player no longer qualifies as a developmental player because they have exceeded the maximum games played for developmental status in a previous season, they are ineligible for developmental status at any point in the future.

Rationale: As the rule is currently written, it can be very difficult to determine a player’s potential DV status. This new rule makes it clear that if a player loses eligibility at any time in the past they can no longer be eligible in the future.
